1. India, China and Tibeta?Indian authorities last week detained Tibetans protesting against Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to India. China takes issue with India's hosting of the Tibetan exile community. As VOA's Kurt Achin reports, that community is approaching a major political milestone.

The Dalai Lama visit Ravangla Tibetan Settlement,in Sikkim.?The Tibetan spiritual leader was accorded a warm welcome by chief minister of the Indian state of Sikkim on December 18, when he visited the Tibetan settlement. The Dalai Lama gave Buddhist teaching to over 3000 Tibetans and Sikkimese during his visit. Later while addressing the Tibetans he said the "nothing much has been achieved from theBeijing government but the support from the Chinese people is growing." He said, "China belongs to the Chinese people, not the Communist government".
